Background: The concept of this product has been in the works for over three years. How can we showcase hockey history in a unique yet sophisticated manner? With this help of a watch craftsman we solved the puzzle on how to upcycle historic used hockey sticks into classic timepieces.
This limited edition watch is constructed using the iconic 1979 Victoriaville Olympic II hockey stick employed by famous NHLers and the public they inspired.
Why we chose this stick: Quebec-based Victoriaville came on the scene during the middle of the 20th century. Many NHLers referred to Victoriaville (later known as Vic) as a “homegrown” brand and it subsequently became the stick of choice for some of the biggest names in the game: Bobby Orr, Larry Robinson, Henri Richard, etc. The Olympic models were around during some of Victoriaville’s earliest years and we loved the classic aesthetic of this design like those used by the pros. The stick design made it easy to complement the aged grain with a light leather and rose gold casing.
Limited Edition: Only 25 of this design are available for purchase based on the available wood material in the stick.
