We target historic wood hockey sticks that represent an iconic brand, player, era, or all of the above.

Each well-loved stick is upcycled by collecting the painted wood veneer and inner core for watch components.

Each stick produces enough components to assemble 25 watches. We make sure to showcase the painted veneer in the dial.

Every watch departs the shop in an engraved wood 'Origins Hockey Watch Series' watch box with a card recognizing its place (1/25) in the limited collection.

"Northland was America’s oldest and largest manufacturer until its closure in the 1980s. Northland started up in 1917 producing skis in Minnesota, but moved over to hockey stick production in the 1930s using the same ash lumber. Northland grew exponentially and by the 1960s Northland enjoyed over half the domestic (U.S.) hockey market. Their sticks were being used by amateurs and pros alike such as Gordie Howe, Phil Esposito, Andy Bathgate and more."

"This is one of the few instances where a specific player drove the selection of the stick and brand. When you think of the early Wayne Gretzky years you can imagine him in an Edmonton jersey, blue Jofa helmet, and sporting a classic red and white Titan hockey stick in his hands."

"Many NHLers referred to Victoriaville (later known as Vic) as a “homegrown” brand and it subsequently became the stick of choice for some of the biggest names in the game: Bobby Orr, Larry Robinson, Henri Richard, etc. The Olympic models were around during some of Victoriaville’s earliest years and we loved the classic aesthetic of this design like those used by the pros."
