Background: You could say Alaska is the birthplace of Third Assist. Our founders were born in the state's largest city (Anchorage) and the connections to the state continue to run strong to this day. For that reason, we knew it was too easy to go simply for the Alaska state flag. You can already find gold and navy big dippers in many hockey circles. Therefore we chose another route for inspiration: The Alaska license plate.
The story: L'etoile du Nord. The North Star. Nothing traces back better in Minnesota hockey history than the Minnesota North Stars. L'etoile du Nord is the state motto for Minnesota and you can find it directly and its symbolism throughout state emblems. We overlayed symbol with the state bird (the loon) to add some character to highlight two of the state's most iconic symbols.
The fit: The fiber is a blend of cotton and polyester (80/20).
The seams have ribbed knitting. Durability is further assured by the inclusion of neck tape backing. As such, the collars are elastic and stretchy. Runs true to size.
Please note: We do not accept exchanges or returns on our tees and sweatshirts, unless there is a notable defect. Each shirt is printed on demand by the order. Also there's not a notable markup on this item, but we've decided to offer it based on requests for a more affordable state pride alternative to our state sweaters. Thanks for your understanding.
